Veterans Reintegration Center of Jacksonville, Inc. (VRCJ) is hosting a 5th Anniversary Celebration to commemorate its first five years of service to veterans in Northeast Florida. VRCJ is a non-profit organization founded by retired Army Lieutenant Richie D. Whiteside to provide free social services and educational programs to help veterans successfully transition from military to civilian life. VRCJ is a small organization with a big goal – to improve the lives of veterans on the First Coast.
A luncheon will be held on November 14, 2009, at 12:00 PM, at the Clarion Hotel Airport and Conference Center, 2101 Dixie Clipper Road, Jacksonville, Florida, 32218. The ticket cost is $45 per person.
VRCJ is excited to announce retired Navy Captain Robert (Bob) Buehn as guest speaker. Captain Buehn is Chief of Military Affairs in the City of Jacksonville Veterans and Disabled Services Division. Throughout his distinguished career, Captain Buehn has proven exceptional leadership and dedication in service to our country through tours served at Jacksonville Naval Air Station, Mayport Naval Station, and Cecil Field. He most recently served as the Commanding Officer of the Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility at Jacksonville Naval Air Station and has served in other leadership positions, including Chief of Staff of the Cruiser-Destroyer Group 12 at Mayport Naval Station; Commanding Officer of the U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and Commanding Officer, VS-32, at NAS Cecil Field. In addition, he has extensive experience in aviation operations, teaching, communications, and writing.
Everyone is encouraged to come and support our local veterans, meet VRCJ’s magnificent team of volunteers, and celebrate five years of service to veterans. To purchase tickets, make a donation, or request additional information, please contact Joanna Hendricks by phone (904) 647-1767 or email jhendricks@vrcj.org.
